Gloria A. Huh, Ph.D.
PSYCHOLOGIST
Welcome!
I’m Gloria Huh (she/her/hers), a licensed psychologist (PY60969908) located in Seattle, Washington. As a second-generation, Korean American, cisgender woman of color, I didn’t grow up knowing about therapy or emotions, in general, as might be the case with you. I am aware of some challenges you might face in getting connected to therapy. Because of this, I have created a therapy experience that reduces barriers and empowers you to improve your life but also feels real and natural.
I work through an integration of two core approaches, multicultural theory (the prioritization of context and culture in understanding our strengths and distress) and psychodynamic theory (the exploration of how childhood experiences and relationships have shaped who we are and contribute to our distress). I also incorporate different modalities to enhance the work, such as mindfulness, behavioral techniques, and somatics.
My style, more conversational than scripted, honest but gentle, will allow you to go deeper and make you feel both understood and confident in our work together. I don’t give advice, but there’s a reason behind it. You can read more about this in an interview I did in the Seattle Times.
